Hugo Lloris, Mike Maignan and Steve Mandanda are the 3 stoppers possibly heading towards Qatar but the word cup winning captain Lloris is once again set to lead the country in the 2022 World Cup. Mike Maignan is definitely a world class goalie and has been in outstanding form for AC Milan but he will have to sit out once again.

French backline is pretty much fearsome. Deschamps is more likely to go with a 3 man Center back. Manchester United man Raphael Varane and Bayern Munich star Lucas Hernandez are likely to be accompanied by Sevilla center half Jules Kounde. Presnel Kimpembe, Dayotchanculle Upamecano and Leo Dubois are the other possible options who can start. However, Deschamps may try versatile formation and in that case, he may start with 2 CBs and 2 full backs.

AC Milan sensation Theo Hernandez, with the form he is in, should get his place in the starting line up at the left part of the defense and he will play the role of a wing back. Theo scored the decider of the semifinal against Belgium at the UEFA Nations League. Benjamin Pavard, another Bayern defender who will be remembered for his wonder strike against Argentina, is expected to start at the right side. Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante are the two main weapons for Deschamps at the heart of the field. These two will play crucial role for Les Bleus. And the duo have got worthy replacements in the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Jordan Veretout, Corentin Tolisso and Thomas Lemar.

Just like the other parts of the field, French attack is also sensational. Oh wait, it’s probably the most fearsome part of their squad! Just imagine if you are a defender and you are facing the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann. This trio can give nightmare to any defender. Benzema is enjoying the form of his life. Mbappe is as dangerous as always and he already showed what he is capable of in the Russia World Cup. Griezmann was a bit out of form during his Barca days but he rarely disappoints whenever he wears his national team shirt. The bench features the likes of Ben Yedder, Dembele, Coman and these guys can prove themselves deadly as well.
