Wimbledon 2021 Prize Money
|The Championships, Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament and is widely regarded as the most prestigious tournament. The tournament is held annually at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon.
The 134th edition of the Wimbledon championship is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the others being the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open. The tournament will start on June 28 and will go on till July 2021.
Usually, the qualifying is likely to take place the week before, at Roehampton near the Wimbledon complex. The Wimbledon purse for 2019 was $49.4 million for the men’s and women’s tournaments. In 2020 the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19 Pandemic. But all the participating players got insurance money. £10m was distributed to the 620 players whose rankings would have been high enough for them to enter the tournament had it taken place.
The total prize money for 2021 has decreased to £35,016,000 which is 7.85% lower then previous one.

The singles champion will take home £1,700,000, while the runner-up will receive £900,000. The semifinalists’ cheque will be for £465,000and the quarterfinalists will earn £300,000. The fourth round players will receive £181,000, £115,000for reaching the third round and £75,000for reaching the second round. First-round losers will take home £48,000and the qualifiers 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive £25,500, £15,500and £8,500.
