Manager: Luis Enrique.

Unai Simon was picked as the first choice goalkeeper at the Euro and he did extremely well to sit out David De Gea. He helped the side win the shoot-out against Switzerland. He also saved a penalty in the shoot-out against Italy but somehow his side was knocked out. Then the Bilbao number one, stood between the post in the UEFA Nations League semifinal and final. Thus, he is expected to be the first choice GK in the Qatar WC as well. David De Gea also has been in very good form for Man Utd recently but he might have to sit out as the 2nd choice option. Brighton’s Robert Sanchez will be the 3rd choice goalie in the squad.

Cesar Azpilicueta is an experienced defender and will be a key figure. He has been sensational both at the club and national level competitions. He will start as the first choice right back. The center back position will be possibly occupied by Aymeric Laporte and Pau Torres. By the way, Eric Garcia may also get his chance and in that case, Pau Torres might have to start from the bench. The left back position will see a tough competition in between experienced Jordi Alba, in form Marcos Alonso and Reguilon.

Two almost certain starters in the squad will be captain Sergio Busquets and Pedri Gonzalez. The Barca duo’s 3rd partner might be rotated based on the respective match opponent. Koke, Thiago Alcantara, Rodri Hernandez and Gavi, any one of these four might be the 3rd starter alongside Busquets and Pedri while others might get their place at the bench. Spain always had top class midfield in the recent past. They may not match the quality of the likes of Xavi, Iniesta but the current Spanish midfielders are highly potential and capable of making a difference.

The front line might consist of Ferran Torres, Mikel Oyarzabal and Dani Olmo. However, you can see a few variations as well. Mikel Oyarzabal will face a tough fight with Gerard Moreno. Juventus forward Alvaro Morata will be keen to make his goal scoring stat as well as converting ratio more better. Meanwhile, Sporting CF attacker Pablo Sarabia will also be a handy option as well.
