Serbian goal line guarding duty will be entrusted upon Predrag Rajkovic. The 26 years old is currently playing for Ligue Un side Stade de Reims. He has been the first choice keeper in the qualifying rounds and should continue as their number one gloveman in Qatar. His replacements in the squad will be Torino FC goalie Vanja Milinkovic Savic and Sevilla FC’s 2nd choice stopper Marko Dmitrovic. The later mentioned keeper is the oldest among the three and is also the most experienced but Rajkovic is expected to bench him.

Serbia Boss Dragan Stojkovic is highly expected to go with a 3-men back line. Fiorentina center half Matija Nastasic should be a certain starter. SV Werder Bremen’s Miloj Veljkovic and Monaco defender Strahinja Pavlovic should also start on regular occasion. Another Fiorentina man Nikola Milenkovic along with Getafe’s Stefan Mitrovic will be other crucial options for the manager. The other members in the squad might be: Filip Mladenovic, Mihailo Ristic and Uros Spajic.

Serbia’s midfield is quite strong and features some big names. Nemanja Gudelj who is currently playing for Spanish La Liga side Sevilla FC, would occupy the central part of the midfield. Serie A duo Sasa Lukic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will be the other starters in Gudelj’s right and left respectively. Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the biggest name in the Serbian midfield and will be a key player for them. He has been in pretty form for the Italian side and the boss will be hoping similar kind of performances from him in the WC. In the wider parts of the field, Filip Kostic will be the first choice and regular starter in the left while his right sided counterpart is expected to be Hellas Verona’s Darko Lazovic.

The Serb front line is star studded and it’s probably the strongest part of their squad. Skipper and Ajax sensation Dusan Tadic is not only the biggest name up front but also the most vital player in the squad. He scored a goal and assisted another one in that crucial game against Portugal. He has been in sparkling form for Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam in the recent seasons and is really one of the most underrated players in Europe. In the striking part, there will be a good battle between Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic. They might replace each other during the game but if the manager decides to go with 2 strikers at the same time, both of them may start together. Vlahovic have had wonderful time with Fiorentina while Mitrovic is a more experienced number nine and it was his goal which have sent the Eagles into the World Cup.
