Indian Cricketers Salary 2021
|The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the governing body for cricket in India and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. BCCI renews the contract of the players each year and according to each players performance of the last year, BCCI moves players between these four Salary categories.
An Indian player is paid Rs 15 lakh for every Test match. For an ODI, he receives an amount of Rs 6 lakh. For every T20I, the BCCI pays Rs 3 lakh to every player. In 2020, Bumrah earned Rs 1.38 crore from BCCI (excluding the annual contract fee).
There are four categories in which BCCI divided players contracts according to their roles, importance and performances in team India and those categories are mean to be as contracts with BCCI and the board will pay the salaries according to the players positions in these categories.
Distribution of Annual Player Contracts Team India (Men):
- Grade A-plus players (Rs 7 crore)
- Grade A players (Rs 5 crore)
- Grade B players (Rs 3 crore)
- Grade C players (Rs 1 crore)
There are also some Fees and bonuses for the players
Match Fee: Every individual player who plays an international match for the country is provided with the match fee. The match fee is the same for all the squad members.
Team Performance Bonuses: Performance Rewards are also given by the BCCI to the individual players if they score a Fifty or a Century against the top 3 ranking teams in the world. The Hike is 30-60% in their overall salary.
Retainer Fee: Retain Fee is guaranteed yearly retainer which will be paid to all cricketers in the central contract according to their grade A+, A, B, C and D
Individual Performance Bonuses: Performance-related bonuses are also rewarded for example Rs 500,000 for scoring a hundred in a Test or ODI, Rs Rs 700,000 for a double hundred in the test. Rs 500,000 for 5 wicket haul in Test, ODI or T20 and Rs 700,000 for taking a 10 wicket haul in test matches.
