Pro: All Original Content
Apple TV+ is unlike any other streaming service because all of the content you receive is exclusive and original to the service. You won’t find any classic shows or old cop dramas. Instead, you’ll find award winning shows filled with the top names in entertainment. Honestly, it’s exactly what you’d expect from Apple.
Pro: The Price is Right
Apple TV+ is only $7 per month. Sure, you won’t be able to replace cable outright with this service, but for a slate of over 100+ original shows and movies, it’s worth the cost. Add in the fact that you can cancel any time and the deal becomes better. You can watch your favorite shows and if there’s nothing else you want to watch, just cancel until the new seasons come out and you’re good to go!
Pro: No Ads!
There are a couple of other $7/month streaming services out there, but Apple TV+ is the only one that offers the service without ads. You will occasionally see an ad before a show that’s for an Apple TV+ movie or show, but otherwise, traditional ads are not included.
Con: Limited Library
As amazing as it is that Apple TV+ only provides you with content that you can’t find anywhere else, it’s also limiting for the same reason. While services like Netflix have thousands of shows and an endless number of things to watch, Apple TV+ has 100+ shows. It’s growing but offers a significantly smaller library than other streaming services. Of course, it’s cheaper, so this won’t be a problem for most viewers.
Con: You Don’t Know What You’re Going to Get
Signing up for HBO Max is easy because you know Game of Thrones and Friends. Netflix has their lineup of classic shows and so does Amazon Prime. All the content on Apple TV+ is newer to viewers, so you may not know how much of it you’re going to like. If you’re someone looking to binge-watch classics, this may not work for you. Apple TV+ has a lot of great shows, but if you want something familiar you won’t find it here.
