UEFA Euro 2021 Fixture

UEFA Euro ScheduleUEFA European Championship is the continental soccer cup competition of Europe featuring the national teams. Informally it is also known as the Euros. The competition started it’s journey back in 1960 and is the 2nd most popular soccer competition just following the FIFA WC. The upcoming edition will be the 16th in the history. It was originally scheduled to take place from 12 June to 12 July, 2020. However, the Covid-19 pandemic forced the authority to postpone it for a year and now will take place in 2021 although the event name will keep it’s original year in the title. In this content, we will present you the whole schedule of the UEFA Euro 2020.

UEFA European Championship 2021 Full Schedule:

The competition will begin on 11 June, 2021 and will come to an end exactly a month later. 24 national teams will participate in the main competition and 12 cities from 12 different countries will host the competition matches. There will be a total of 51 fixtures including 36 group stage games. Teams will get divided into 6 groups and each group will feature 4 teams. The group stage will start on 11 June with the opening clash between Turkey and Italy and will come to an end on 23 June.

Knockout Stage:

The knockout phase will consist of 15 high voltage fixtures including 8 round of 16 encounters, 4 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals and the final. Just like every edition since Euro 1984, there will be no 3rd place play-off match. However, after the end of group stage 16 sides will qualify for the round of 16 including the winners and runners-up of each group along with 4 best 3rd placed sides. The business end of the competition will start on 26 June with the 1st round of 16 fixture at Wembley, London and will finish 15 days later with the final taking place at the very same venue.

Each of the 12 venues will host at least one knockout phase fixtures. Among them 11 other venues only except Wembley, London will host one game each, either a round of 16 stage match or a quarterfinal fixture. Only the British capital based Wembley Stadium will have the privilege to host as many as 4 knockout clashes. Apart from it’s round of 16 match which will be contested between winner of group A and runners up of group C, it will also host both the semifinals as well as the final.
